About
SOLO isn't a demographic. It's the work.
You may be building a business by yourself, or building with a partner, co-founder, lover, and/or friend — and the truth is the same:
The work of leading yourself is always solo.
No one else lives inside your head. No one else feels what your nervous system is doing on a Tuesday afternoon when the email comes in. No one else can do the quiet, internal work of staying with yourself when everything in you wants to react, please, perform, disappear, or push through.
That part — the relationship between YOU and YOU— is the foundation of everything else.
That's what this publication is about.
A space for the human behind the business
The SOLO Dispatch is an independent publication I started in August 2025, sitting in the airstream looking at the mountains, born from a question I kept coming back to in conversations with clients, colleagues, and myself:
What would it look like to build a business without abandoning yourself to do it?
Not the version where you push harder, optimize more, or follow someone else's playbook to a definition of success that was never yours. The other version.
The slower, truer, more sustainable one — where emotional intelligence isn't a soft skill but the actual strategy, where presence is the pre-requisite for clarity, and where the relationship you have with yourself shapes every decision you make in your business.
This publication is for the human behind the business — the one carrying the vision, the doubt, the ambition, the exhaustion, the wondering if it's worth it, the quiet knowing that something has to change.
Whether you're building alone or alongside someone else, the work begins in the same place - with you.
What lives here
Honest letters about the emotional terrain of building something of your own — the patterns no one warns you about, the conversations you're not having, the way over-functioning masquerades as commitment.
Frameworks and reflections on emotional intelligence as strategy.
The SEE · STAY · CHOOSE work I teach my clients, translated into essays you can sit with on a Sunday morning.
Stories from twenty-five years inside the messy, beautiful, occasionally unhinged work of running a business — solo and in partnership, in the wins and the rebuilds, the ebbs and the slows.
And underneath all of it: a steady reminder that you're not broken, not a disaster, not shit. You're disconnected, and reconnection is possible.
It isn't another framework promising to "fix" you. It's the kind of writing I wish someone had handed me when I was building, exhausted, and pretending I knew what I was doing.
Who I am
I'm Stacy Fischer. I'm a coach, confidant, and strategist for the human behind the business. I work with people who've built something real and are ready to stop sacrificing themselves to keep it running.
I write about what I see — in my own work, in my clients' lives, in the quiet conversations that happen between sessions. I bring two and a half decades of building businesses (my own and alongside others) and a deep belief that emotional intelligence isn't separate from strategy. It is the strategy.
The SOLO Dispatch is where my thinking lives in long form.
WITH Stacy Fischer is where the deeper work happens — coaching, courses, community, and the kind of one-on-one support that helps people lead themselves through what they're building. Both are an extension of the same belief:
The inner work makes the outer work.
You don't need to be more disciplined, more strategic, or more relentless.
You need to be more WITH yourself. Everything else follows from there
